2012 Maserati SUV
More fans of Italian sports cars, think of a possible Maserati SUV, based on the Jeep, will be pure contempt for history. However, pragmatists and analysts believe that this is a possible move to revive the brand.
Now the company insiders have revealed that the Italians will actually run based on Jeep Grand Cherokee brand Maserati crossover at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Moreover – the same people mention that the luxury SUV will be produced in the model (as other sports cars of the brand) and a Chrysler factory in Detroit.
There is no doubt that CEO Sergio Marchionne Fiat Chrysler is the man behind this project. For Chrysler and Fiat, Marchionne basic scheme is to combine the two companies to reduce costs, increase profits and cause a major vehicle manufacturers such as General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen.
Perhaps some would say Marchionne copy of the policy of Ferdinand Piech. Platform-sharing strategies, particularly for the implementation was used by VW Group. Now it seems that Marchionne carefully monitor what is done, Dr. Piech.
You can look at it this way – if VW had not acted so probably would not have a Porsche Cayenne. And it is something to think Marchionne did – to become in the future Grand Cherokee Maserati SUV.
