Audi S8 4.0-liter TFSI bi-turbo V8, generating power from 520 hp
At the Frankfurt Motor Show Audi will present three S-model – S6, S7 and S8. Those models are fitted with a new 4.0-liter TFSI bi-turbo V8 engine, which replaces the previously mounted V10 with a capacity of 5.2 litters.
In the largest S-model – Audi S8, the engine generates 520 hp and 650 Nm, which is transmit to all four wheels through an automatic 8-speed transmission.

According to information acceleration of the new 2012 Audi S8 from standstill to 100 km / h takes just 4.2 seconds – about half a second less than the S6 and S7 Sportback, which use the same engine, but with 420 hp power
The new Audi S8 engine with direct fuel injection is equipped with a system that extinguishes the four cylinders under low loads, as well as start-stop system. Technology delivers 23% lower consumption (13.2 liters in a mixed range) compared with the previous model 2011 Audi S8, according to the information.

2012 Audi S8 has changes in the suspension too. It has adaptive air suspension with three modes. New brake system is already relying on discs with diameter of 400 mm – front and 365 mm – rear. Optionally available are carbon-ceramic brakes.
Differences from “normal” version of the Audi S8 is in optics, but they are insignificant. They are express with the new 20-inch wheels, revised rear bumper with integrated diffuser and a slightly revised front mask which makes the new Audi S8 more aggressive.
