The story is as follows:

In 1957, several monks from the Thai monastery had to move out of the temple of Buddha statue made of clay. The monastery had to be moved elsewhere to make room for the developing highway in Bangkok. When the crane began to carry the giant idol, he began to crack, because its weight was enormous. On top rained. The chief monk, anxious not to damage the holy Buddha, decided to temporarily put the statue on the ground and covered it with a large tarpaulin to protect her from the rain.

In the evening, decided to see what the treasure of the temple, looked under the tarp and something was flashed. Gone for a tool to help discovery. Not long after the clay of bursting “clothing” of the Buddha and fell before the poor monk to reveal all its beauty.

Historians believe that several hundred years before the discovery of the monk, the Burmese army is preparing to attack Thailand (then called Siam). Having learned that their country will soon be attacked, Siamese monks covered the precious golden Buddha with clay to protect the treasure from the plunder. Unfortunately, it seems the Burmese soldiers have killed all the Siamese monks and well-preserved secret of the golden Buddha remained undisclosed to the memorable day in 1957.
